I have comcast too, but do you know if you can get only NHL network without having to buy the sports package? I don't watch other sports and wouldn't want to pay for them. I know you're not a comcast rep, just wondering on the off chance if you knew.
Not only do you have to buy the sports package but they gave me this song and dance about how their computer code was screwed up and I needed to up grade to a digital gold package or whatever it was. I agreed to it only because I wanted to get MSNBC during the election season. I hope to switch from Comcast to DirecTV before NHL hockey season starts. Comcast has been nothing short of a nightmare in their customer relations in my experience.
I have comcast, and you do have to buy that sports package. I have thought about switching to DirecTV; I may do that in November or December, but keep the internet and phone with comcast.
I just bought a 7 game pack, and I am really psyched to go this year. I may go to some other games; I may try to take some of my students to a Saturday game like the Hurricanes on Nov. 14, vs. Columbus on Nov. 22, or Sat. March 28th vs. Ottawa. I had to trade out my Pens tix in Dec. because we have final exams, and I don't know if I want to go on a weeknight when we have exams. I may still try to go, but I am going to see what I have to do for grading. I really hope the Thrashers do well! I may also still try to go the preseason game with Detroit too, and the Blackhawks game. If I could travel, the one I would really love to go to would be the San Jose game in February. I would love to go to the Shark Tank. That place looked insane during the playoffs. The Sharks did something cool this year; they had their players hand deliver season tickets to their season ticket holders. I thought that was awesome!!
I was hoping to go the camp practices on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20th and 21st, but not sure I can. I know the 20th I definitely cannot. The 21st I have some plans, but I may see if I can go and just enjoy.
Falconer, I know all of what you said about how the Thrashers may not do so well with 83-86 points, but I am hopeful that they will do better.
BTW, rumors about Pominville in Buffalo about him being at an impasse with Buffalo. He is 25 and a right wing. His numbers are good. 68 pts- 34 G, 34 A in 2006-7, 80 pts. last season, 27 G and 53 A for 2007-8. Also, Patrick O'Sullivan, 23, for the Kings. He is a center. 2006-2007- 5 G, 14 A= 19 pts.; 2007-2008- 22G, 31 A= 53 pts. Clearly, he has made progress, is young, and is a center. Is he fast enough to keep up with Kovy? He sounds good. I can't believe LA has not resigned him!! They have the money to do it, but not sure we could either one of these guys. I would think that O'Sullivan would be easier to get than Pominville, but you never know!

Ah, okay that sucks. Wish you could buy individual channels. Guess it will be a while until I can afford NHL network then.

Note that if you get the sports package from Comcast, you also get a few regional Fox networks that carry college hockey as well.
I think the package is $6 or $7 a month. Personally I think the NHL Network is worth that amount alone.
